Do You Copy? is a film produced in a very short time span. This is the soundtrack, composed also in a very short time span. The moods and textures are at times filled with a longing, a melencholy to rise up from this twisted mundane reality. The reality of copy machines, of flourescent lighting, of power struggles. As one lifts up between the planes of existence, they find another location, or several-- infinite locations of mystery and uniqueness. And yet the characters of this little drama find themselves existing in a tangent reality wrought with the same power struggles as they knew in their homebase reality. In outer space, BLOT the EFFACER rules with an iron fist. This is the story of their battle against his forces. But it is also a story about a subtle love with the world. The stuggle to just be, in a world that wants you to be something defined. I think this soundtrack reflects a lot of these issues. I tried to hit upon a few recurring themes of searching, of discovery, of psychonautical exploration. There's some silliness here too, as the movie is full of silliness. Enjoy. - d.
